Forty years ago today Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, TN. He had a dream. We often have dreams about how we want things to be. The time has come for things to change. A short time ago Barak Obama gave one of the best speeches in history regarding racism. We have finally come to the point where we may be able to deal with issues of race. It’s not going to be an easy road by any means. For the first time in a long time I believe it is really possible for us to achieve the change that King dreamed out. I believe we can change. There are other issues of bigotry that we must face, however, in order to be a more perfect union.

In honor of King’s Death I will be posting a series of my writings on bigotry and other social issues.
