Lost about “Lost” – I’m sure you aren’t alone

Has everything on ABC’s “Lost” been confusing to you since the end of the 2006-2007 Season. That’s because Lost switched from flashing back, a method used on both Lost and it’s sister show Alias since the shows started, to flashing forward—something leaving viewers rather confused.

***SPOILER WARNING***
In the season finally last season the switch was made at the end of the show. It wasn’t obvious at first and those using TiVos, DVRs, PVRs, and felt like they had to rewind the show to figure out what the hell just happened. The shocker was that Kate and Jack were revealed to have made it off of the island but that life had sucked since they got back.
But wait, that part shouldn’t be a surprise. The previous seasons all used flashbacks to show how much everyone’s life sucked before they got there. There were a couple of people I could never figure out like why Rose and Bernard were there???  But, for the most part, the rest were better off on the island if the “others” left them alone.
With this new season, they have been flashing forward and flashing back! So to help ease the confusion here are a few things to look at:
There are supernatural things going on with that island. That much has been obvious since the first episode. So it should be no surprise that a ghost is now on the show.
The flashbacks this season so far seem to be of the newest cast members—the supposed rescue crew whose primary purpose is not to rescue them and has yet to be revealed. Most of the members of the Oceanic Six have been identified so far. Ben would not be considered one of them because he is not from that flight so at the present moment it is: Jack, Kate, Hurley (Hugo), and Sayeid (spelling?). That only leaves 2 more unless I missed someone.
The biggest revelation of the lastest episode may have flown right past several people. A rocket launched from a ship to the island had a different time display than a clock the scientist had with him. While this could probably be described the equipment getting messed with by electromagnetic fields around the island…it doesn’t explain the launch was coordinated by a 2 way radio convo and the rocket reported back that it’s location at times BEFORE it got to the island. That’s right folks, we have a temporal anomaly on the island—something outside of the normal space-time continuum. That’s really confusing and would give anyone a headache. So here it is in plain English:  Time doesn’t work the same on the island as it does in the outside world. Still confused?  I’m sure a lot of people are. Can I explain it? I have no idea exactly what the writers are up to with this show. My suspicion is that they will have trouble adjustin to the time differences out there but I could be wrong.
